The Janus Community

We invite you to become a part of this enormous and exciting project. The Janus Project is designed to successfully navigate and collectively elevate the full matrix of political, economic, commercial, community, and social forces throughout the world. We need your help.
A strong network of members, sponsors and participants is key to our success. Apart from the essential support you provide individually by becoming a member, our network also includes a coalition of supporting partners among international industry associations, world city governments, promoters, artists, and performance rights organizations. It also includes inter-governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, key organizations within the United Nations System, and several federal agencies within several national governments.
We are also building a franchise network of National Janus Project Organizing Committees (NJPOCs), with the purpose to attract and engage local membership and sponsorship participants in the promotion and broadcast production of the N.E.W.S. World Summit. NJPOCs also assist with the channel management of funds and resources to successful solutions providers in the annual cycle of search, discovery and support.
We call our network the Janus Community. The Janus Community is defined and its activities and behaviors are governed by the Janus Project Charter.
All members and network partners must agree to abide by the Charter whose seven principles and values are repeated here.
- The Janus Community is the collective collaboration of people and organizations committed to the intellectual transformation of humanity.
- The Janus Community seeks to create an international civil society based on the joys and challenges of debate and the search for truth, the value of observing and respecting the rights of the individual, universal ethical principles and the respective laws of Sovereign Nations.
- The Janus Community protects and satisfies the need for citizens of all nations to be given the freedom to express their opinions on solutions to issues of societal and international concern openly, directly and, if desired, anonymously.
- The goal of The Janus Community is to use natural commercial and market forces to place modern communication technologies, entertainment, and an individual’s right to participate in a world forum, at the center of the harmonious development and progress of mankind, with a view to promoting educated peaceful societies knowledgeable of the world around them.
- The Janus Community is the concerted, organized, universal and permanent action, carried out under the authority of the JPI, and of all individuals and entities who are inspired by the values, work and activities of the Janus Community. It climaxes annually bringing the world’s peoples together, along with up to 200 of the world’s Heads-of-Government, leading opinion leaders, cultural figures, and specialists, as well as the world’s music artists and entertainers at multiple host city entertainment centers, during each edition of the North East West South World Summit™ international television broadcast.
- Any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Janus Community.
- Belonging to the Janus Community requires compliance with the Janus Project Charter and recognition by the JPI.

Why "Janus" ?
Janus, a god unique to the ancient Roman Empire, represented the transition between primitive life and civilization, chaos and order, war and peace. He was popularly represented with two faces facing opposite directions and commonly observed above doorways and on coins. The name "Janus" was chosen for this project because the god's plurality best symbolizes the world's diverse socio-political landscape and visually represents a meeting of minds.

Janus introduced the system of the years, the changing of the seasons, the ups and downs of fortune, and the civilization of the human race by means of agriculture, industry and the arts. He was invoked to initiate noble enterprises.
In his left hand, he held a key to show that he opened and shut all things, and in his right hand he carried a long virgate rod with which he controlled all enterprises and their fortune.
The doors of his temple gate in ancient Rome were kept open in times of war so he would be ready to intervene when necessary. All Roman soldiers and their leaders marched through the Janus temple gate on their way to war fronts. In the rare times of peace across the ancient Roman Empire the doors of his temple gate in Rome were closed.

Our Founder
|

Our founder, Mr. Adam Davidson, is the acting President and Chief Executive Officer of The Janus Project International Corp. in in Washington DC. As a citizen of both Australia and the United States of America, his professional experience spans almost 30 years, managing clients in government and private sectors in both countries.
He spent almost 15 years as a live sports broadcaster and producer, while also owning and operating a regional advertising agency for corporate and government messages reaching regional non-English speaking markets via commercial and community networks of radio and television enterprises across Australia and South Pacific nations. He also lead the Janus Committee International Ltd, the non-profit organization in Australia, from which the Janus Project originated.
Mr Davidson emigrated from Sydney Australia to Washington DC in 2004, to build the necessary relationships and foundations to launch The Janus Project International Corp. at the centenery of the Woodrow Wilson presidential inauguration.
Mr. Davidson's holds a bachelor's degree in communication from Mitchell College and a master of business administration degree from Charles Stuart University in Australia. He visits the Unitarian Universalist congregation in Fairfax VA, and is a visiting Master Mason (from the NSW & ACT UGL) to Grand Lodges in Virginia and Washington DC.
